Happy Birthday to me, Happy birthday to me... well enough of that stuff lets talk about presents, and I wanna sing praises of Canopus in it's Canopus ADVC-100. This is a Firewire Digital Video Analog To Digital Converter. What does this mean? It means an external hardware box that can capture at 95-98% of a satelite signal. It can do this with less then a 15% CPU usuage under Linux (my preferred capturing environment). However Windows fans don't despairs the actual ripping process is definately more powerful under Windows. Look forward reviews of the Canopus equipment as well as lots of windows ripping guides and Linux capturing guides.
