If theres one thing that can be said about me, is that I am a news junkie. I currently don't have cable, and the only thing I miss is BBC World, and CNN channels (although nature shows are always nice). So to make up for this fact I tend to do a lot of online reading, in fact some days I can spend up to an hour keeping intouch with the latest technologies and world events.

A few months ago on BetaNews, I discovered a program called RSSNewsTicker. What RSSNewsTicker does is connects to various RSS feeds, that you specify and displays the news across your monitor. You can easily do other stuff while the ticker goes across, then simply click on an interesting heading that passes by and up pops that particular link. For those of you that don't know what an RSS feed is, it's something like a webpage but published in another language called XML. These XML statements can contain images (for site logos), text, and a link. Eventually I may setup an RSS feed for the Article section, but I'de need to start writing more Articles first (ideas welcome). RSSNewsTickler is released under the Beerware software license

RSSNewsTicker RSS News Feed, almost any website with an RSS Icon has a feed.

So although RSSNewsTicker might not be everyones cup of tea, those of a professional nature that like to stay on top of the News will definately find this program to be a time saver. Feel free to also send me a comment in the Contact section if you come across a good RSS feed.
