Every so often I wonder why a company buries a silly option deep down in the program, where mortal man would dare not look, let alone why the option existed in the first place. But I've found one, this tweak I do every time I reinstall XP. Fire up our friend regedit (Windows Registery Editor) click on Edit then Find type in MenuShowDelay enter. This may take a while if your registry is as large as mine (37+ megs). Eventually you'll find a result and it most likely will say 400. Now double click on the MenuShowDelay, or alternative right click and select modify. Set this value to 0, and close regedit. Now click on Start and just see how much faster you can get at your programs!

Don't fool around with regedit, adjusting other delays may affect your Windows performance, or force you to reinstall. But if you feel you must, remember that we do Windows reinstallations :)
